The Julian

Slovenian alpine boutique inn

Category: Boutique hospitality
Type: Self-initiated concept project
Core idea: A design-forward boutique inn built for rest, slowness, and sensory reset.

Intro

The Julian is a self-initiated boutique hospitality concept set in the Slovenian Alps. The project was created to explore how brand strategy, visual storytelling, and guest experience can come together to build a more distinctive, place-based inn identity.

Positioning

A boutique inn in the Slovenian Alps designed for slower mornings, warm interiors, and a more thoughtful pace of stay.

Objective

To create a hospitality brand that feels intimate, atmospheric, and design-led without relying on generic luxury cues. The goal was to position stillness, sensory detail, and a deeper sense of place as the product.

Creative Direction

The visual world for The Julian was shaped by alpine restraint, natural materials, and quiet ritual. The identity draws on the atmosphere of the Slovenian Alps through a palette of stone, lake, forest, and softened interior warmth.

Typography and brand applications were designed to balance intimacy and refinement, creating a system that feels premium, grounded, and memorable across digital and guest-facing touchpoints.
